The Mindfulness app is one of the great novelties of the latest versions of the Apple Watch and iPhone operating systems.  Perfect for meditating and breathing differently

While its original run might be enough

for users who only get close to these types of technologies, experts may want to customize their experience a bit more.

With the arrival of watchOS 8 and iOS 15, we have also seen the landing of a bunch of very interesting functions of the Apple smartwatches, which we are trying to analyze until you get their full performance.  For example, in this case, we teach you several tips for taking advantage of the Mindfulness app on your Apple Watch, as one of the great novelties of these smartwatches increasingly oriented to health and well-being.

In fact, the Mindfulness app has huge potential, which we believe will not only improve over the years, but we can also learn about it thanks to this series of important recommendations.

Tricks to get the most out of Mindfulness on Apple Watch

  Set the reflection time

Your smartwatch, among other things, allows you to set and customize the duration of the inversion before the session.  While we think one minute of thought is good, maybe five minutes is even better.  Especially, of course, when you want to ignore a little bit of everything around you.

You have to press the Digital Crown to go to the home screen of your Apple Watch and after that, open the app.  With the Mindfulness app open, tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen, and adjust the session duration according to your needs, from the Duration section.

If, for some reason, you want to end the session before those five minutes, or the period you deem ideal, simply slide your finger from left to right, and click the End button.

Adjust the duration of the breathing session

You can also set the duration of your Breathe session on your Apple Watch, as a continuation to the previous trick.  Again, a one-minute session might be fine, but if you have free time, it's a good idea to extend it a bit.

Open the Mindfulness app on your Apple Watch, and scroll down a bit until you find the Breathe app.  When you're done, click on the icon with the three dots right next to that option, to access Duration, where you can set how long you want it to last.

Once activated, you should inhale and exhale accompanying the app, and this will let you know your heart rate.  Keep in mind that the system will mute some notifications so you can focus properly.  Meanwhile, if you log out or answer a call, it will end without showing your frequency data.

  Custom Respiration Rate

Another tip for taking advantage of the Mindfulness app on your Apple Watch that you should monitor is the one that gives you the ability to customize your breathing rate, which makes a lot of sense if you're using this technique.

Interestingly, mindfulness also allows you to customize your breathing rate, so you can use it to increase or decrease your breathing rate, depending on your purpose.

You have to go to My Watch, Mindfulness, enter respiratory rate, and select an appropriate respiratory rate.  You will notice that there are several alternatives, depending on the number of breaths per minute.  Choose the one that suits you best.

  Mute notifications for today

If you want to banish distractions and alerts when you're awake, you can easily silence them.  You just have to open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, go to My Watch, Mindfulness, and silence it.

If you want this setting to be final, simply turn off the switches for the beginning and end of the day.

  Customize touch technology

watchOS 8 also lets you choose your preferred touch style for alertness, a detail you shouldn't forget.  You can go for something simple, almost imperceptible, or choose the one that stands out, depending on your preference.

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, go to My Watch and then Mindfulness, and go to the Haptics menu, where you can choose from three very different options, including None, Minimal, and Featured.
